So how did Flower Power Organic Cosmetics happen? To be honest it didn't start the typical way with a hippy couple blending up potions and then selling them at travelers fairs...

​

My name is Monika Johnson (Mikendova) and along with my husband Brendon Johnson (former host of TV3's Money Man series) we started noticing just how many chemicals and plastics we use in our everyday lives... It's crazy and there is no need we thought, so we decided to make our own products but people who visited our home loved them and wanted them themselves... The rest is history.

The business was formed within some very simple guidelines: To produce the highest quality organic products possible, use no nasty chemicals and to absolutely never test on animals in any form.

WHY ORGANIC PRODUCTS

We get asked this question quite often, there are 3 main reasons: 

​

1) That good organic products work better.

2) They are better for you. 

3) They are better for the environment

​

People are subject to tons of advertising from the industry giants using famous models trying to convince them that their synthetic formulas will work wonders on their skin. Small companies like ours, making pure, natural products don’t have the advertising dollars needed to gain household recognition, but If you are in pursuit of a healthy lifestyle, choosing organic skincare is a priority.

What many do not think about is what happens to those synthetic products once you have washed them from your skin, one way or another they end up in our ecosystem.

WHY ORGANIC SKINCARE

Rates of illness and disease continue to rise. There are increasing studies showing the connection between illness and chemicals. We need to eliminate or reduce exposure to synthetics. Synthetics are simply not necessary in skincare and in many cases synthetics are downright scary. 

And for what?! you ask. I’ll tell you for what– first and foremost: money; cheap ingredients are easy to manufacture and market. Flower Power products are reassuringly made up to the highest quality - not down to

a price.

There are many benefits to using natural beauty products, but most importantly, they are better for your health, for the environment and they work!

​

Once we started thinking of producing our own products we noticed how cheap and available plastic packaging was, but we didn't want it, the world has a growing problem with plastics and we didn't want to be part of it. Instead we have opted for glass and mainly aluminium packaging that is easily recycled and looks cool...
